Written and illustrated by Mizuho Kusanagi, Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona) is the long-running manga series which follows the adventures of Yona – sole princess of the kingdom of Kouka. On the occasion of her 16th birthday, Yona intends to tell her father of her love for her childhood friend, Soo-won, but when she visits his chambers she witnesses Soo-won murdering the king in a bid to usurp the kingdom.
Yona escapes the castle with her bodyguard Son Hak and goes with him to his birthplace, the Village of the Wind. After finding the oracle Ik-su, he tells them of the legend of Hiryuu – the first king of Kouka, and his four dragons who unified the kingdom. Yona, Hak and Iku-su’s assistant Yun set off on a quest to find the legendary dragons and save the kingdom.
This Limited Edition of Vol. 22 comes with an OVA adaptation by the animation studio Pierrot of the Zeno Arc’s emotional after-story!
