Yoko Nishikawa comes from a rich family, but her life turns from posh to poor after her father’s business goes bankrupt and she must learn to drop her princess attitude and adapt to a frugal lifestyle. Because of this, she struggles to make friends at the all-girls high school she attends. However, her life changes when one day while eating lunch alone she has a chance encounter with Futaba Odagiri, a cheerful and energetic girl with a huge appetite, and Teru Hayama, a girl who despite her innocent appearance is actually quite mean. Despite having wildly different personalities, they do have one thing in common: all three of their names contain the kanji for “leaf.” The story follows their everyday lives as they form an unlikely friendship and struggle to navigate school life and the confusing time of adolescence.
