Jun Sakurada is a junior high school student who has become socially withdrawn after being bullied by his classmates and refuses to go to school. Since then, he has become a shut-in who never leaves his house. One day, he receives a cryptic letter asking him “yes or no?”. Though skeptical, he circles “yes” and a wooden box suddenly appears in his room. He opens the box to find a very realistic bisque doll who begins to move on her own! She introduces herself as Shinku, one of seven living Rozen Maiden dolls created by a legendary doll maker named Rozen. From that point on, Jun becomes Shinku’s master and the two enter the Alice Game, a competition between the Rozen Maiden dolls in which the last doll standing will become a doll of utter perfection named Alice!
