Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka Vol. 6

The modern world has enjoyed an era of relative peace, but this wasn’t always the case. Three years ago, the world was attacked by extradimensional enemies called Disas, and humanity’s military might was powerless against them. When it looked like all hope was lost, fairies from the spirit world granted magical powers to a few human girls, and with those powers they stopped the Disas onslaught. One of these teenage schoolgirls, and leader of the Magical Five, is Asuka Otori.
Since that time, Asuka has happily left the battlefield to live an ordinary civilian life. But just when she thinks she’s out of the game, circumstances pull her back in. Three years after the last great Disas battle, war has changed. A handful of magical girls are now being hired by international crime syndicates in a war for money and power. These magical girls are employing black ops and terrorist tactics to achieve their endgame, and Asuka is the world’s best chance to bring peace and order to it once again.
In Vol. 6, the fierce battle in Okinawa has finally come to an end and Chisato, an illegal magical girl, is taken prisoner. Meanwhile, the new magical girl equipment brought by General Tavira is in the hands of the enemy. Sensing disturbing developments in the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, Iizuka and her team decide to intervene. Asuka and her fellow Team M members head to Ukraine for their next mission, where they find out that the Babel Brigade has been in secret contact with the Russian military…
