Love Live! School Idol Diary: Umi Sonoda

In the much loved anime franchise Love Live!, a group of high school girls are worried about the fate of their school which has such low attendance figures that it may have to close down. The girls then come up with the unusual idea of forming a schoolgirl idol band in the hope of making the school more popular and prevent its closure. This series of light novels, Love Live! School Idol Diary, tells the same story as the anime but from the perspective of each of the nine μ’s members in sequence. In this second volume it’s the turn of Umi Sonoda, a childhood friend and classmate of the group’s founder and series protagonist Honoka. If Umi is one of your favorites, you’re sure to enjoy this excellent light novel adaptation which is told entirely from her perspective and even includes a few new personal details too.
