Katsushika Hokusai: 100 Masterpieces

Hokusai was one of the most influential artists of the late Edo period who strived to paint better pictures all his life. Born thanks to the cooperation of the Sumida Hokusai Museum, this collection showcases 100 masterpieces of the famous ukiyo-e painter ranging from landscape and bird-and-flower paintings to shunga or supernatural, as well as a few pieces from his sketch collection Hokusai Manga.
Also featured are explanations from Hiroyuki Kano, an art historian specializing in Edo paintings. Spanning a total of 111 pages in Japanese, 100 Masterpieces is a worthwhile collection for fans of Hokusai’s works or art aficionados in general!
