Horimiya Vol. 9

Kyoko Hori is a bright and popular high school girl, but she has a side that she doesn’t want others to know about. Outside of school she is a homebody who is family oriented, and she takes care of the housework and looks after her younger brother, Souta. Izumi Miyamura is her classmate who also has a secret side he wants to keep hidden from others. At school he is a gloomy otaku who keeps to himself, but in his private life he’s a good-looking, laid-back guy with a punk style that includes piercings and tattoos. One day, the two find out about their alternate personas outside of school when Izumi helps Souta return home after he gets a nosebleed. Not wanting anyone else at school to know their secret, they make a pact with each other and soon become friends. But will their friendship blossom into something else?
In Vol. 9, two semesters have passed and winter arrives. With only one more semester left of high school, Kyoko begins worrying about the future. Izumi and Kyoko go on a date for Christmas, but can he find the words to ease her anxieties?
