Written by Yuto Tsukuda with illustrations by Shun Saeki, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma follows amateur chef Soma Yukihiro as he tries to make it through the Totsuki Culinary Academy, a famous culinary school in Tokyo, Japan with a graduation rate under 1%. He’s aiming to be the best chef in the world, and to do that, there’ll be some serious competition! Using the ideas and skills of real-life chef and model Yuki Morisaki, this series is as packed with incredible-looking food as it is charm, comedy, and drama.
Volume 1 of the Japanese manga, titled The Endless Wilderness, kicks off the story with chapters 1-5 plus includes a bonus chapter titled "Kurase-san's Diary" and a one-shot, spanning 204 pages total.
