Dagashi Kashi Vol. 9

Kokonotsu Shikada is an aspiring manga artist living in the countryside with his father Yo who runs a small candy store named Shikada Dagashi. The shop has been in the Shikada family for eight generations, and Yo wants Kokonotsu to inherit the family business, which Kokonotsu adamantly refuses.
Enter Hotaru Shidare, an eccentric candy lover and the daughter of the head of the famous candy company Shidare Corporation. Hotaru is in search of Kokonotsu’s father and on a mission to convince him to come work for her father’s company. Yo initially refuses but states he will change his mind if Hotaru is able to convince Kokonotsu to take over the family business. Hotaru’s mission to open Kokonotsu’s eyes to the joyous world of delicious sweets begins!
The high-tension sugar-fueled fun continues in Vol. 9! It’s time for winter vacation! Hajime becomes a YouTuber, candy that’s perfect as a New Year’s gift is highlighted, and Kokonotsu goes on a date with Saya?!
