CLAMP’s ‘90s manga Wish is the story of doctor Shuichiro Kudo who spots angel Kohaku stuck in a tree and being attacked by a crow. After Shuichiro rescues her, Kohaku offers to grant him a wish, but Shuichiro’s life is pretty good so there’s nothing he really wants.
Kohaku, still feeling like she wants to do something, decides to move in with Shuichiro and wait until there’s a suitable wish she can grant. Soon after, she’s joined by even more supernatural entities as Shuichiro’s life begins to become a little less simple…
Volume 4 of Wish sees Kohaku descending to Earth without God’s permission, unable to bear being apart from Shuichiro. However, their happiness may be short-lived as the Angel Masters are on their trail…
