Chimamire No Take Ningyo

At the request of her publisher, a young girl named Maiko with strong supernatural abilities is asked to find an actress named Mikawa who had retired 45 years prior in Chimamire no Take Ningyo. With nearly half a century having passed since she retired, even Maiko’s abilities don’t help in finding any information on the star’s whereabouts, so she decides to go to a village in a mountain recess where Mikawa’s parents lived.
There, she learns of a tradition where an outsider girl is rejected as a “bamboo girl,” and Maiko meets with a disaster. That’s when a bloodstained bamboo doll appears before her. Strange things keep happening around Maiko in this village of terrible traditions as she continues her search!
