Chihaya Ayase was in middle school when she met the transfer student Arata Wataya who helped spark her passion for karuta. Circumstances unfortunately separated the childhood friends. Now a high school student, Chihaya wants to not only found a karuta club, but also become the best karuta player in Japan! She also hopes to be reunited with her childhood friend Arata.
