Feeling depressed about the harsh critique he has received from his fellow students, Yatora begins to lose motivation. But the same seems to be true for his rival, Yotasuke too. After Yotasuke receives a stern critique from Professor Nekoyashiki, Yatora tries to encourage him, saying he has talent. But the difference between the concepts of “talent” and “effort” only seems to muddy things further. After getting an outside perspective from Hachiro, who was listening in on them, Yatora realizes how narrow-minded he is being and confronts Yotasuke again with a simple question: “Do you like painting?”
