Black Torch Vol. 2

Mononoke are spirits that live for an eternity. Raised as a ninja by his grandfather, Jiro is a young boy with the ability to talk to animals, and one day he runs into a black cat covered in wounds. After trying to protect the cat from pursuers, Jiro ends up in a battle and soon finds himself a member of the Black Torch, a special group set up to fight against even spirits!
In volume 2, Jiro receives some hostility from another new member, Reiji Kirihara, and the two are ordered by their commander to practice fighting against each other with real swords. Before long, it’s time for Black Torch’s first mission, the underground facility that sealed the black cat!
