Early 16th century Florence, Italy. The birthplace of the Renaissance, where art and culture flourished. In this vibrant and glamorous time lives Arte Spalletti, the daughter of a nobleman, who is blessed with promising talent as a painter. She dreams of becoming a master painter, but after the death of her father, she is pressured by her mom to find a young nobleman to marry in order to save the family. However, she refuses to give up on her dream and begins looking for a master painter to apprentice with, even though it means going against not just her mother but the societal beliefs of her time.
In Vol. 5, Arte begins a new life as a painter and tutor in Venice. However, what awaits her is Katarina, a selfish young lady. Arte struggles with her at first, but one night she sees her secret.
