When she awakes in the cold basement of an abandoned building, 13-year-old Rachel (aka Ray) finds herself trapped with no memories and no idea where she is. Before long, she finds a cutthroat man named Zack completely covered in bandages and wielding a scythe. Somehow the two have become the targets of murderers living in the building. Forced to work together, the two begin their desperate search to find a way out before it’s too late.
In Vol. 9, as Zack and Ray continue climbing up through the underground building, they finally arrive at floor B1, the closest they’ve been to the surface. However, Ray is distraught and passes out, leaving Zack to explore the floor alone.
